Invalidation marks that survive the afternoon
Trend confirmation training notes: writing invalidation when price departs a moving average during a volatile session.
Morning confirmation often dies after lunch—not because the method failed, but because invalidation was never written.
Place the mark with the thesis
When you claim trend continuation after a moving-average defence, state the close or wick location that cancels the claim. Vague phrases such as “if it gets weak” do not count in our clinic.
Prefer structure over round numbers
Invalidation tied to the swing that justified the average touch survives better than a round price chosen for comfort. We compare both on paired historical charts during the Trend Confirmation Clinic.
Afternoon noise
A single counter-candle inside the invalidation band is not automatic cancellation. Decide in advance whether you need a close beyond the mark or two closes. Write that standard next to the average period so the afternoon does not invent a new rule under pressure.
Bring that standard to your next clinic or private review if you want it pressure-tested on your own prints.
